Explosions reported in Russia's Samara, rocket and space centre may have been targeted – photos, video

Explosions and strikes have been reported in the Russian city of Samara during an attack, with the Rocket and Space Centre Progress potentially among the targets.

Details: Exilenova+ posted photos and videos showing strikes in Samara.

The Rocket and Space Centre Progress, a major facility in Russia's aerospace industry, may have been targeted. The facility produces medium-class launch vehicles and automated spacecraft. The Aviakor aircraft plant, which repairs and modernises Russian aircraft, is located nearby.

An air-raid warning was issued in Samara Oblast on the night of 14-15 August due to a missile threat.

Update: Fedorishchev later confirmed that Samara had come under attack, saying that an "industrial facility" was targeted. The Russian official did not provide further details about the strike.

Update: An Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) analysis by Astra later confirmed that a workshop belonging either to the Rocket and Space Centre Progress or the aircraft plant is on fire.
