Details: The Defence Ministry also noted that during testing, the Dovbush T40 demonstrated a number of advantages over similar systems, including an extremely low radar signature, a high-performance engine with an electronic fuel injection system, and significant resistance to electronic warfare.
"Various payload configurations enable the model to conduct deep reconnaissance, adjust fire and carry out precision strikes either by dropping munitions or in kamikaze mode," the ministry said.
The ministry added on its website that the Dovbush T40 unmanned aerial system was manufactured by a Ukrainian company with extensive experience in producing such aircraft.
"The Dovbush T20 UAS and Kotyhoroshko made by this company have been operating on the battlefield since 2022 and have some of the highest effectiveness rates," the statement said.
The Defence Ministry noted that the Dovbush T40 was developed based on experience gained from operating the previous Dovbush T20 model, which is designed for medium-range reconnaissance, real-time artillery fire adjustment and precision strikes. The new system has a longer range and more powerful strike capabilities.
Background:
- It was previously reported that 413 unmanned aerial systems have been approved for use by Ukraine's defence forces since the beginning of 2026. This is more than in 2025 and 2024.
- In addition, in early July, the Defence Ministry approved the 17-inch multi-purpose Queen of Hornets drone for operational use by the defence forces.
