Details: The incident occurred on the night of 17-18 August, as Russian forces once again targeted civilians in the oblast. In the city of Kherson alone, Russia carried out several attacks using various types of strike drones.
One of them was directed at a house in the central part of the city. The munition dropped by the drone flew through a window into the room where the two-year-old boy was sleeping.
The mother immediately took her son to the nearest hospital. Their lives are not in danger, and police officers and volunteers are arranging their evacuation.
"Law enforcement officers also removed the munition from the child's bed and documented yet another war crime committed by the army of the aggressor state.
Once again, we urge families with children to evacuate from areas that are systematically attacked by the enemy. There are no limits to its cruelty," the police stressed.
Background:
- On the night of 11-12 February, Russian forces attacked Dnipro. The attack caused a fire in a house, where the ceiling collapsed onto a baby's cot. The child was taken out just in time.
- "The baby started crying or something, so the mother went over and picked the child up. She took three steps away, and then the ceiling came down right onto the cot," said Serhii, the family's neighbour.
