Russian foreign minister threatens UK with consequences over "direct involvement" in Ukrainian strikes on Russia
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has threatened the UK with consequences over its "direct involvement" in strikes on Russia, commenting on British Prime Minister Andy Burnham's pledge to support Ukraine.

Details: Lavrov said he "feels sorry for Britain if it is going to stand with Ukraine until the very end".
"As for the substance of the matter… it means only one thing: the president [Putin – N.B. Ukrainska Pravda does not recognise Putin as president – ed.] that we have the right to act in any part of the world's oceans if anyone encroaches on our interests or property. We are equally entitled to view Britain's proudly declared direct involvement in missile strikes on Russia as participation in the war, with all the consequences that entails," he told Russian propagandist Pavel Zarubin.
Lavrov was commenting, among other things, on a statement by Andy Burnham that London will support Ukraine 100% against Russia and remain by its side "in its hour of need".
Background:
- Earlier, the Embassy of the Russian Federation to the United Kingdom issued a statement saying that reports that Ukraine was using British-made drones to strike Russian territory "confirm that London is deliberately opting for an escalation of the Ukraine crisis, while hypocritically professing a desire for peace".
- The Embassy of the Russian Federation to the United Kingdom has stated that "the deeper its involvement in the conflict and the greater its support" for Kyiv, "the higher the price it will pay".
- Andy Burnham has said London will continue supporting Ukraine as it has done so far and that this will not change.
