Airspace restrictions imposed in southern Moldova for 15 minutes due to drone

A drone entered Moldova's airspace from the direction of Odesa Oblast on the morning of 24 August.

Details: The ministry said airspace restrictions were imposed in the south of the country for 15 minutes.

According to Moldova's Ministry of Defence, the drone entered the airspace at 05:55. It came from the direction of the settlement of Vynohradivka in Odesa Oblast and headed towards the settlement of Vulcanești.

At 06:09, the drone was recorded leaving Moldova's airspace from the direction of the village of Pașcani in Cahul district, heading towards Romania in the direction of the settlement of Vedești.

Airspace in southern Moldova was restricted for 15 minutes, after which it was reopened.

"The unauthorised overflight occurred against the backdrop of aerial attacks carried out overnight by the Russian Federation against Ukraine. National authorities, together with partners, continue to monitor the airspace for the safety of the population," Moldova's Ministry of Defence stated.
