Ukrainian canoeist wins World Championship gold in C-1 200 metres
Ukrainian canoeist Liudmyla Luzan has won a gold medal at the 2026 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Poznań, Poland.

Details: On the final competition day of the world championships, three-time Olympic medallist Luzan triumphed in the C-1 200 metres final.
Luzan finished first with a time of 44.40 seconds, beating her nearest rival – Canadian Sophia Jensen – by 0.50 seconds.
The 29-year-old Ukrainian athlete has thus defended her world championship title in this discipline. She triumphed at the world championships in Milan last year.
This is Luzan's second medal at the 2026 world championships in Poznań. She previously won a silver medal together with Anastasiia Rybachok in the C-2 500 metres.
