Russian attacks cause power outages in five Ukrainian oblasts, restrictions imposed in Odesa Oblast

Russian strikes on energy infrastructure have caused power outages in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Donetsk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia oblasts as of the morning of 3 September, while temporary grid restrictions are in place in Odesa Oblast.

Details: Emergency repair work is continuing in Odesa Oblast following a large-scale Russian missile and drone attack. Electricity has already been restored to all consumers.

Meanwhile, temporary grid restrictions are being applied in the oblast to prevent the network from becoming overloaded. They are expected to be lifted once repairs are completed.

Ukrenergo recommends shifting electricity-intensive consumption to between 10:00 and 16:00, when industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently, and limiting the use of high-power electrical appliances between 18:00 and 22:00.

Background: A multi-storey residential building in Odesa was damaged in a Russian attack on the night of 2-3 September. Seventeen people were injured, including three children.
