A Russian attack damaged a high-rise residential building in Odesa on the night of 2-3 September, injuring 17 people, including three children.

Details: Lysak said that eight people had been injured.

"All the appropriate services are at the scene. People are receiving the necessary help," he said.

Update: As of 07:00, 17 people were reported to have been injured in the Russian strike, including three children.

Quote: "Apartments on the ninth to 16th floors of a 21-storey residential building have been damaged as well as cars. The clean-up operation is ongoing."

Background:

  • Russian forces regularly carry out aerial attacks on Odesa and Odesa Oblast using ballistic and cruise missiles as well as attack drones against civilian and energy infrastructure in the area.
  • On the night of 1-2 September, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on the city, destroying apartments on the upper floors of a 24-storey building and damaging two educational facilities and a business centre. Eight people were injured in the attack, including a five-year-old child.
