US President Donald Trump's special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will travel to Moscow and Kyiv this weekend for talks on ending the war.

Details: According to sources, Witkoff and Kushner will travel to Moscow on Friday 4 September.
They are expected to hold talks with Kremlin ruler Vladimir Putin on Saturday 5 September, and meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv the following day, 6 September.
Ukrainian and US officials said they have been discussing the trip to Kyiv for several months.

- On 4 September, Kyiv Independent, citing sources, reported that Witkoff and Kushner are supposedly discussing alternative plans for their visit to Kyiv in the coming days due to Russian intimidation.
- The report came a day after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Witkoff and Kushner have confirmed that they might visit Ukraine. This comes as Kyiv is facing continuous attacks by Russian jet-powered drones, which entered their ninth consecutive day on 4 September.
