Majority of Poles believe Russian provocations against Poland are likely

Almost two-thirds of Poles (64.9%) believe that warnings about further Russian provocations against Poland are credible.

Details: When asked, "Do you consider warnings about possible new Russian provocations against Poland credible?", 64.9% of respondents answered in the affirmative. Some 29.4% answered "definitely yes", while 37.2% said "probably yes".

A total of 18.8% of respondents expressed the opposite view. The option "definitely no" was chosen by 7.6%, while 11.6% answered "probably no". Another 14.3% chose "hard to say".

The SW Research poll commissioned by Onet was conducted from 31 August to 1 September 2026 using computer-assisted web interviewing (CAWI). As part of the study, 800 interviews were conducted among a nationwide sample of adults. A quota sample was used to ensure representativeness by gender, age and the population size of the respondents' cities.

This week, Polish Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said that his country is strengthening the protection of its airspace due to recent provocations by Russia.
From 10 September to 9 December 2026, eastern Poland will be included in the EP R134 temporary restricted airspace zone.

Earlier, media reported that Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are cooperating on protecting against potential Russian attacks on infrastructure in these countries, which could be carried out under a "false flag", as allied intelligence agencies have repeatedly warned.
