Kremlin objects to E3 involvement in talks on Russia-Ukraine war
The Kremlin has said the involvement of national security advisers from the "European Three" – France, the United Kingdom and Germany – in talks on the Russia-Ukraine war could "complicate the process".

Details: Asked about the presence of national security advisers to the leaders of the UK, France and Germany at talks in Kyiv, Peskov said their participation could "complicate the process".
Quote from Peskov: "This is more likely to complicate the negotiation process. Because, unlike the Americans, the Europeans are doing everything they can to prevent this war from ending."
More details: Peskov added that if the negotiation process is "dragged out", Ukraine's position will worsen and Russia's demands will become "increasingly unpleasant".
Quote from Peskov: "We have long been saying that every passing day worsens the position of the Kyiv regime."
More details: Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke positively about the recent talks with US President Donald Trump's special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
Quote from Lavrov: "From the very beginning, the Trump administration has understood the root causes of the conflict and has had the will and ability to address them. This is why we believe that talks, negotiations and contacts with the relevant envoys are useful to both sides."
More details: Trump's special envoys travelled for talks first to Moscow and then to Kyiv last weekend. In Kyiv, national security advisers to the leaders of France, the UK and Germany joined the negotiations.
Background: Earlier, EU Defence Commissioner Andrius Kubilius said he agrees with Russian leader Vladimir Putin on the need to "eliminate the root causes of war" – provided this refers to the real root causes, namely the Kremlin's imperial ambitions.
