Zelenskyy and Norwegian PM discuss strengthening Ukraine's air defence and preparing for winter

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has discussed strengthening Ukraine's air defence, its need for interceptor missiles, joint work on the FREYJA anti-ballistic programme and preparations for winter during a meeting with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre in Oslo.

Details: The President's Office said that the main focus of the talks was protecting Ukrainian airspace amid Russia's ongoing aerial attacks.

Quote from Zelenskyy: "Jonas and I discussed strengthening Ukraine's air defences, our need for interceptor missiles, further work on the FREYJA anti-ballistic program, and preparing Ukraine for the winter."

Details: Zelenskyy also expressed his condolences to the Norwegian people and government over the death of King Harald V. He said it was important for him to attend the farewell ceremony on 9 September because Ukraine greatly values all the support from the Norwegian royal family and people.

As part of his working visit to the Norwegian capital, Zelenskyy is also scheduled to meet representatives of international defence companies involved in developing the FREYJA anti-ballistic system.
