Ukraine's General Staff confirms strike on Russia's Tolyatti plant that produces rubber for rocket fuel

Ukraine's defence forces have confirmed that they attacked the Tolyattikauchuk plant in Russia's Samara Oblast on the night of 11-12 September. The plant supplies Russia's military-industrial complex.

More details: Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces said the Tolyatti plant had been struck by drones operated by pilots from the 1st Separate USF Centre in coordination with other defence forces units. The drones travelled an estimated 880 km before reaching the target.

The Tolyattikauchuk plant produced synthetic rubber, monomers, fractions and high-octane petrol additives, the General Staff explained. The Ukrainian military says that synthetic rubber, among other things, is used to produce solid rocket fuel for short-range and ballistic missiles.

Background: Ukrainska Pravda previously reported that Ukrainian forces had attacked the Snizhne Machine-Building Plant in the Russian-occupied part of Donetsk Oblast, which manufactures components for gas turbine engines, including compressor and turbine discs and blades.
