Russia expands Alabuga drone plant to boost drone output, OSINT imagery shows – photo

Russia is continuing to expand the Alabuga Special Economic Zone (SEZ) industrial site in Tatarstan, where the production of Shahed-type strike drones is concentrated.

Quote: "There will be even more Shahed drones... Expansion of the industrial infrastructure continues in the southern part of the economic zone. Several large manufacturing blocks have already been erected on the site, whilst a number of other facilities are at various stages of construction."

Details: According to Dnipro Osint, at least five large elongated buildings have been built, internal roads and access routes have been constructed, and the building of additional structures is ongoing nearby.

"The exact purpose of the new facilities is currently unknown," the analyst added.

Background:

• Earlier, Oboronka reported that the building of new manufacturing blocks in the southern part of Alabuga began in May 2026. At the beginning of July, active assembly of the main structures was still underway here. The area of the site under construction spans approximately 340 hectares.
