Ukrainian drones hit over three thousand Russian unmanned ground vehicles over the year

Since the beginning of 2026, the Ukrainian military has hit over 3,000 Russian unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Details: The UGV strikes were confirmed through the DELTA battlefield situational awareness system. According to the Ministry of Defence, the highest number of Russian ground robots were destroyed or damaged in August – 511 pieces of equipment.

Quote: "Every enemy ground drone disabled means disruption to the enemy's logistics, reduced capabilities for reconnaissance and assault actions, and the need to compensate for the loss of robotic platforms with additional resources and manpower."

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine also published the number of Russian UGVs struck with drones for each month since the start of 2026:

January – 460
February – 293
March – 215
April – 223
May – 323
June – 370
July – 456
August – 511

The Ministry explained that in the first half of September, the defence forces struck nearly 200 ground robots of the Russian army using UAVs.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine began reporting on struck Russian UGVs in its daily updates in May 2026.
