Ground robotic system and FPV drones stop Russian assault in 20 minutes – video

Drone operators from the NC13 strike ground robotic systems unit of the Third Army Corps, working with FPV crews, have stopped a Russian assault using a Droid TW-12.7 ground robotic system and attack drones.

Details: During combat duty, NC13 drone operators detected a group of six Russian troops moving towards Ukrainian positions. To stop the assault, they deployed a Droid TW-12.7 ground drone equipped with a combat module fitted with a 12.7mm Browning machine gun.

"The ground robotic system opened fire on the group and stopped its advance. An unmanned systems battalion also joined the operation and used FPV drones to strike the assault group," the company said.

According to DevDroid, the six Russian troops were killed after approximately 20 minutes of joint work by the ground robotic system operators and FPV crews. The Ukrainian positions remained under the control of the defence forces.

NC13 commander, who goes by the alias "Makar", said the episode demonstrates how ground and aerial unmanned systems can work together to carry out a combat mission.

"The greatest value of this cooperation is that we do not need to send assault groups to clear positions and expose our service members to enemy fire. Technology allows us to operate at a distance and gain an advantage over the enemy, which helps us protect our personnel," Makar said.

DevDroid developed the Droid TW-12.7 as a ground robotic system for reconnaissance and fire missions on the battlefield. It is remotely controlled and equipped with a built-in ballistic computer and surveillance cameras. According to the developer, the system can engage personnel, unarmoured vehicles and lightly armoured equipment.
