Details: The president stated that a horrific crime took place at the Benedictine Sisters' Abbey in Jarosław, committed by a Ukrainian citizen.
Quote: "We are shaken by this evil. According to the information available so far, a Catholic priest was killed and several other people were injured. We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased. We wish all those injured a speedy recovery."
He emphasised that the person guilty of this evil must be brought to full justice under the law.
"We count on a swift and thorough investigation of all the circumstances. It is painful that people are capable of such evil crimes. Justice must be done," Zelenskyy said in his statement.

- On the morning of 24 September, a 31-year-old Ukrainian citizen attacked four men and one woman with a knife on the grounds of the Jarosław Abbey on Benedyktyńska Street in the Polish city of Jarosław. As a result of the attack, a priest was killed.
- The Polish prosecutor's office reported that the Ukrainian entered Poland from Germany on 24 September. He was heading towards the border crossing in Korczowa but did not cross the border. The man trespassed onto the monastery grounds and then entered the kitchen area. It was there that he likely encountered the first people who were subsequently attacked.
