Russia completely destroys warehouse of Ukraine's largest ice cream producer

A refrigerated warehouse belonging to Rud, Ukraine's largest ice cream producer, was completely destroyed in a Russian drone attack on Zhytomyr on 5 September.

Details: Blazhkevych said a Russian drone struck the refrigerated warehouse building, which also housed administrative and staff facilities, on the south-eastern outskirts of the city of Zhytomyr at around 16:05 on 5 September.

The total area destroyed amounts to 4,350 sq m. At the time of the Russian attack, the premises contained finished products, loading equipment and other property.

For reference: Rud is Ukraine's largest ice cream producer and a leader in the country's frozen food market, with a market share of around 30%. The company operates its own production facility in Zhytomyr, processing more than 35,000 tonnes of milk annually.

The brand's products are sold at 75,000 retail outlets across Ukraine and exported to 36 countries, including through international retail chains Lidl, Kaufland, Auchan and Metro. In addition to ice cream, the company produces frozen vegetables, berries, dough and convenience foods.

The company's co-owners are Petro Rud, his daughter Oksana Vivsyk and her husband Serhii Vivsyk.
