Bomb disposal teams in Kyiv have neutralised the warheads of two ballistic missiles that crashed in residential areas but failed to detonate.

Quote from the National Police: "Following the enemy's nighttime attack on the capital, Kyiv police bomb squads neutralised the warheads of two ballistic missiles in the Solomianskyi district. Both crashed close to residential buildings. Each warhead weighs about half a tonne."

Details: The police noted that the warheads had been rendered safe and would subsequently be removed for disposal.

Background:

• One person was injured and residential buildings in the Holosiivskyi and Solomianskyi districts were damaged in the Russian attack on Kyiv on the night of 28-29 September.
• On the night of 28-29 September, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with a Zircon/Oniks anti-ship missile, two Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles and 152 drones. Ukraine's air defence downed 109 aerial assets.
