Russia attacks Ukraine with Zircon and Iskander missiles and 152 drones: air defence downs 109 aerial assets
Russian forces attacked Ukraine with a Zircon/Oniks anti-ship missile, two Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles and 152 drones on the night of 28-29 September. Air defence forces have downed 109 aerial assets.

Details: The Russians started the attack at 18:00 on 28 September. They launched a Zircon/Oniks anti-ship missile and two Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles from Kursk Oblast.
They also used 152 Shahed (82 jet-powered) and Gerbera attack drones and Parodiya decoy UAVs.
The drones were launched from the Russian cities of Oryol, Millerovo, Kursk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk as well as the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk and from Hvardiiske and Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea.
Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.

Details: Hits by aerial assets have been recorded at 24 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at 16 locations.
The attack is ongoing, as several Russian drones are still in the airspace.
Background: Air-raid warnings were issued in the city of Kyiv and several Ukrainian oblasts on the night of 28-29 September due to the threat of Russian ballistic missiles. Explosions were heard in the capital and fires broke out.
