Russian attacks have damaged 334 schools in Kyiv – one in three educational institutions in the capital.

Quote from Fidanian: "As of today, one in three educational institutions in Kyiv has been hit as a result of attacks. One in four of those that have been damaged have been hit between two and eight times."

Details: Fidanian said that all heads of schools and kindergartens have a set procedure for responding to Russian attacks. The procedure is adjusted depending on the intensity of the attacks.

"If previously our procedures could have been designed for a quarter, six months or a year, they are now adjusted daily depending on the frequency of attacks," she added.

On the morning of 1 October, Russian forces struck a school in Kyiv's Solomianskyi district with a drone. All pupils and staff were in a shelter at the time of the attack.

According to early reports from Education and Science Minister Andrii Butenko, no children or adults were injured. However, a fire broke out inside the building.

Quote from Butenko: "This is cynical terror. Educational institutions have become one of Russia's constant targets: recently, a kindergarten, school, college, university or research institution has come under attack virtually every day.

That is why the safety of everyone involved in the education process remains the top priority. When an air-raid warning is in effect, shelters are the only option for every child and every adult. The education process must be organised in accordance with the safety situation in each hromada."
