Quote from Zelenskyy: "We are giving justified responses to Russia's escalation with our own long-range sanctions. Important results are achieved practically every day. Over the past 24 hours, oil facilities in the Samara and Volgograd regions were hit.
Successful operations were carried out in the Black Sea and in the Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod, Volgograd, Samara, and Krasnodar regions, targeting airfields, industrial facilities, oil refineries, a rocket and space centre, and an ammunition depot belonging to the occupiers. I thank the warriors of the Security Service of Ukraine, Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Unmanned Systems Forces, Special Operations Forces and Foreign Intelligence Service for their precision and professionalism."
Details: The General Staff also reported strikes on the Volgograd Oil Refinery and the Samara oil pipeline control station on the night of 1-2 October.
According to the military, explosions and fires were recorded at the Russian facilities.
The General Staff stressed that strikes on such facilities are an exercise of Ukraine's inherent right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter and are aimed at reducing the military and economic potential of the Russian Federation.
The results of the strikes are being confirmed.
