Sybiha shares details of talks with UK foreign secretary at Pryluky hospital

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has shared details of his talks with his UK counterpart Ed Miliband, which took place at a hospital in Pryluky, Chernihiv Oblast.

Details: Sybiha noted that this is Miliband's first official visit to Ukraine as foreign secretary.

Quote from Sybiha: "Alongside President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, we came to Pryluky, where yesterday a Russian missile struck a residential building, killing 22 people, including five children. Ed saw firsthand the devastating consequences of Russia's attacks on Ukrainian civilians. We held our talks at a local hospital."

Details: Sybiha added that he had briefed his UK counterpart on the latest battlefield developments, Russia's intensifying terror, and ongoing diplomatic efforts.

He also said that the talks had covered the steps needed to strengthen Ukraine's position and increase pressure on Moscow to end its aggression.

Quote: "We paid particular attention to immobilised Russian assets and the need to use them fully and make Russia pay for the destruction it has caused. We also discussed tightening sanctions, including against Russia's shadow fleet."

Details: Another important topic was Ukraine's readiness for winter.

Quote: "We discussed additional British assistance to strengthen our energy resilience, protect critical facilities, and keep Ukrainian homes heated and powered."

Details: The officials also addressed Black Sea security, including Russian attacks on civilian vessels and maritime infrastructure that threaten freedom of navigation and global food security.

Quote from Sybiha: "We also launched the second meeting of the Political Pillar of the Ukraine-UK Strategic Partnership Dialogue and agreed to continue expert-level discussions in Kyiv."
