Quote: "On the night of 14-15 October, the Ukrainian Navy used a Neptune coastal missile system to strike the Borisoglebsk military airfield in Russia's Voronezh Oblast."

Details: The Navy reported that aviation support equipment had also been destroyed in the strike, while secondary explosions and a fire were recorded at the airfield. Further details are being established.

"Su-34Ms are capable of carrying several guided and high-explosive aerial bombs simultaneously, as well as various types of missiles. They are one of the key aircraft used by Russian aviation to launch guided aerial bomb strikes against positions of Ukraine's defence forces and settlements near the front line," the Navy noted.

The Navy stressed that strikes on Russian Su-34Ms significantly weaken Russia's aviation capabilities and reduce the intensity of its use of tactical aircraft on the relevant sectors of the front.

Background: In early October, it was reported that the Russian Aerospace Forces had received a new batch of Su-34 multirole fighter-bombers, which can carry guided aerial bombs.
