Large-scale power cuts have been recorded in Rivne and the surrounding area following a Russian drone attack on the main power grid.

Details: Power engineers are working to reconnect consumers via backup schemes. Repairs to the damaged facilities will begin as soon as the security situation permits.

Work to restore the power supply also continues in Volyn, particularly in Lutsk. The networks supplying the city suffered serious damage due to drone attacks on the night of 15-16 October.

Ukrenergo has urged consumers who do have electricity to use it as sparingly as possible. This will help avoid forced restrictions during the evening peak consumption hours.

Background: Ukrenergo said its forecasts for winter have been worsened by recent Russian strikes on thermal power plants (TPPs) that were supposed to be operating in winter, but the company does not assess the situation as critical.
