Europeans are working on Starlink alternative and will succeed, Zelenskyy says
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said the Europeans have seen how the US can restrict access to Starlink and are already developing an alternative.

Details: Zelenskyy is convinced that European countries, which rely on Starlink themselves, have learnt from Ukraine's experience that the US can restrict the satellite internet service.
Quote: "Europe sees this. The issue is not just with us. All of Europe has seen that [Starlink operations] can be regulated from the United States of America, that regardless of agreements and contracts, speed can be restricted... Therefore, the Europeans themselves are now raising the issue of alternatives, they are already working and they are already making progress. They will have success in this area. I can already see it."
Background:
- Zelenskyy has previously said a test conducted by Ukraine in EU countries has confirmed that the restrictions on its use of Starlink have been imposed as part of a planned operation.
- According to The Telegraph, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk approached Donald Trump with the idea of slowing down Starlink operations in Ukraine.
- Speaking at the White House on 16 October, Trump said he does not believe that either he or Musk is responsible for Ukraine losing access to Starlink. The Pentagon has not publicly explained the reasons for the restrictions.
