Details: The International Atomic Energy Agency has been informed of the attack.

"Such actions pose a threat not only to Ukraine, but also to nuclear safety across Europe," Shmyhal said.

He described the attack as a serious escalation and called on Ukraine's international partners to respond to strikes on infrastructure that ensures the stable operation of Ukrainian nuclear power plants.

Russia used a total of 289 drones, 17 ballistic missiles and 59 cruise missiles during the large-scale attack. The main targets were power plants and substations belonging to the electricity transmission and distribution systems.

Background: On 13 October, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that an agreement had been reached with the IAEA to deploy missions to 19 Ukrainian electricity substations.
