The Defense Ministry has denied Kyivavtodor’s allegations of the destruction of Kyiv road pavements by military equipment.

"Pursuant to the service rules, all the heavy military equipment taking part in the [Independence Day] parade was provided with rubber track shoes that do not destroy the pavement," the Ministry said.

Other equipment – including combat vehicles and self-propelled howitzer 2C1 Gvozdika – are considered light armored vehicles and don’t need rubber track shoes according to the service rules.

"Such equipment cannot destroy a high-quality road pavement. It can only leave track traces which disappear after regular motor vehicles go there. If this equipment destroys the pavement, it’s the quality of road repair rather than the equipment to blame," the Ministry claimed.
