26 million remains in special account at the National Bank of Ukraine for needs of Armed Forces – support is required

26 million UAH remains in the special fundraising account at the NBU to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Further support is required according to the Press Office of NBU.

About the special fundraising account to support the Army

"As of 18 March 2022, the balance in the special fundraising account NBU opened to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine stands at about 26 million UAH", - the report says.

Overall, the NBU has already allocated almost 12.2 billion UAH to meet the needs of the military in particular:

-  a total of 950 million UAH for the National Guard of Ukraine (450 million UAH on 26 February 2022, 500 million UAH on 6 March 2022)  

-  a total of 1,650 million UAH for the National Police of Ukraine (150 million UAH on 28 February 2022, 700 million UAH on 3 March 2022, 800 million UAH on 6 March 2022)

-  a total of 8,594 million UAH for the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine (182.3 million UAH on 28 February 2022; 843 million UAH on 1 March 2022; 1,999.3 million UAH on 2 March 2022, 920 million UAH on 4 March 2022; 341.2 million UAH on 5 March 2022; 1,843 million UAH on 7 March 2022; 597.9 million UAH on 8 March 2022; 444.5 million UAH on 9 March 2022; 926.2 million UAH on 11 March 2022, 122.7 million UAH on 15 March 2022; 182 million UAH on 16 March 2022; 191.7 million UAH on 17 March 2022)

-  a total of 980.2 million UAH for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (420 million UAH on 3 March 2022, 300 million UAH on 11 March 2022, 106.2 million UAH on 12 March 2022, 154 million UAH on 14 March 2022).

Since the special account was opened, the total inflow has been the equivalent of over 12.2 billion UAH.

"That includes the equivalent of almost 3.6 billion UAH remitted from abroad in foreign currencies (US dollars, Euros, GB pounds, Canadian dollars, Chinese renminbi, Japanese yen, Swiss francs, Polish zlotys and Australian dollars).

Money came in from people and businesses in Ukraine and from the international community (including the US, the UK, Germany, Poland, Sweden, Finland, China, France, Canada, Australia, and many other countries)," – the NBU added.

Those willing to make donations to support the Ukrainian Army can transfer money to a card or a bank account.

About the special account for humanitarian needs

As of 18 March 2022,  the balance in the special account  of the Ministry of Social Policy the NBU opened for humanitarian aid is 290 million UAH. 

"This is the total amount of donations remitted to the account since it was opened on 1 March 2022. The equivalent of over 145 million UAH has come into this account from abroad in foreign currencies (US. dollars, Euros, GB pounds).

Ukraine’s Ministry of Social Policy is both the recipient and administrator of the funds credited to the account opened by the NBU for humanitarian aid from Ukraine and abroad.
