According to Ukrainian Post, this was carried out by so-called Kadyrovites (a Chechen paramilitary group supporting the Russian Armed Forces). The tragedy occurred on March 5. A man and a woman died on the spot. There is a photographic record of the event.

The employees of Ukrainian Post were delivering pensions and mail along the route that passes through the settlements of Orikhovo, Omelnyk, Yegorivka and Novoselivka.

A Russian tank was driving on the road between the settlements of Yegorivka and Novoselivka towards the mail delivery truck. The driver of the truck veered a little to the right to allow the tank to pass. In response, Russian soldiers opened fire on the mail delivery truck from a distance and then ran over it.

Currently, this truck remains by the side of the road between the settlements of Egorivka and Novoselivka.

On March 6, Ukrainian Post personnel attempted to retrieve their dead colleagues because they hoped that someone had survived.

But when they arrived at the site of the tragedy, they were only able to photograph the scene, because the occupiers' tanks appeared and remaining there would have put their lives in danger.

The wrecked truck with the bodies of the dead post office workers remains in the field next to the road.

Due to the fighting in this area and the movement of occupiers’ military equipment, evacuation of the bodies is currently impossible.

The leadership of the Zaporizhia Regional Military Administration has appealed to every citizen of the city and region.

Quote: "If we do not react today to the brutal actions of the invader, tomorrow they will do the same to you and your family.
So, we ask you today to take up arms, dig trenches, strengthen your homes and unite against the aggressor."
