SERHII MELNYK – WEDNESDAY, 22 JUNE 2022, 15:36

Ukraine’s entire oil refining industry has come to a halt due to Russia’s targeted rocket attacks.

This was reported by Yurii Vitrenko, the Chairman of the Board of the national joint-stock company Naftogaz of Ukraine, at a press conference in Kyiv.

"Unfortunately, these strikes actually started during the very first days of the war… All oil refining in Ukraine is currently at a standstill due to massive and repeated attacks by the aggressor, and it is difficult to provide logistics [to supply] oil products to the Ukrainian market, which is leading to shortages," he said.

Vitrenko listed the conditions under which Naftogaz would be involved in solving fuel problems in Ukraine.

"When we have full control and a network of petrol stations, when the logistics problem is solved and we can get the resources to create a national reserve of oil products, then Naftogaz will be able to get involved in solving problems on the fuel market and will guarantee the stability, transparency and equity of prices on this market," Vitrenko said.
