"The Mariupol masterpieces of Alla Horska have come to an end," he wrote on Facebook.

Due to destruction, Ukraine’s cultural heritage has lost two mosaic panels, the "Tree of Life" and the "Boryviter" ["Kestrel" – ed.]. The creator is the dissident artist Alla Horska. She was born and lived in Vasylkiv, Kyiv Oblast.

The artist created them during a business trip to Mariupol in the summer of 1967. Incidentally, she was also killed by the Russian authorities.

"Timeless in terms of plot, aesthetically perfect and devoid of any socialist realist concepts, these two works of Alla Horska's team were the pearls of Mariupol’s collection of monumental art," the journalist adds.

It will be recalled that in Riga, artists created mosaics based on Prymachenko's paintings in order to replace the items burned along with the museum in Ivankiv.
