Russian forces kill another two children in Donetsk Oblast

Six civilians, including a nine-year-old girl, were killed in a Russian shelling of Sloviansk on Sunday, 3 July. A three-year-old girl was reported killed the previous day.

Details: According to the investigation, Russian occupation forces shelled the city of Sloviansk on 3 July, killing six civilians, including a nine-year-old girl and her parents. Another 15 civilians sustained shrapnel wounds.

 

In addition, the Prosecutor’s Office reports that Russian Armed Forces used artillery of various calibres – including Smerch [Tornado - ed.] multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS) – in attacks on civilian residents of Donetsk Oblast on 1-2 July.

Over the course of those two days, five civilians were killed in their own homes or their yards as a result of Russian attacks on Sloviansk. Another three civilians sustained severe shrapnel wounds.

A man was killed in the village of Novomykolaivka in the Kramatorsk district. Four people were injured in a Russian attack on the city of Dobropillia.

 

Russian occupation forces also opened fire on a car in which a family with two young children was trying to flee the village of Zaitseve in the direction of the city of Bakhmut. As a result, a two-year-old boy and his parents, as well as another passenger, were injured, and a three-year-old girl was killed.

The village of Katerynivka and the cities of Kostiantynivka and Kramatorsk also came under Russian fire.

Quote from Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor’s Office: "Dozens of residential buildings have been damaged or destroyed in all of the towns and villages that had been shelled. The premises formerly occupied by a local business, farming facilities and a number of cars were damaged by explosions. Wheat fields with a total area of 24 hectares caught fire and burned.Pre-trial investigation of those facts is continuing."
