The bulk carrier Brave Commander is loaded with 23,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat. After unloading, it will be delivered to consumers in Ethiopia.

"We continue working with the UN World Food Programme to increase the amount of food aid. I am grateful to our partners for their cooperation," said Oleksandr Kubrakov, the Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure.

Brave Commander arrived at the port of Pivdennyi (South) on 12 August, and left for Ethiopia on 16 August.

Reminder:

On Tuesday, six ships, including Kateria, chartered by the UN World Food Programme to help the population of Yemen, left the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdennyi at once.

The UN expects a large increase in the number of ships with Ukrainian grain passing through the Black Sea corridor. The Organisation also considers the goal of 2-5 million tonnes of export achievable.

On 22 July, an agreement on unblocking Ukrainian ports for the export of grain was signed in Istanbul. According to it, all ships engaged in the export of Ukrainian grain are protected by a buffer zone of 10 nautical miles (about 18.5 kilometres).
