It is noted that electricity consumption is predicted to be slightly lower than yesterday.

"Warm weather contributes to this. At the same time, there is a significant power deficit in the electricity system, especially during the evening consumption peak. Currently, electricity production does not cover a quarter of consumption [needs] in the country," the company said.

Ukrenergo emphasises that the reason for the deficit is that power plants (generating capacities) and the high-voltage network were damaged as a result of Russian missile and drone attacks. The latest attack caused significant damage to several power units of thermal power plants.

At the same time, consumption limits for the whole day have been applied for all regional network operators.

Ukrenergo reiterated that each regional network operator in its oblast draws up schedules of planned hourly outages, which should ensure consumption in oblasts within the established limits.

Currently, emergency power outages have already been implemented in Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Zhytomyr and Cherkasy Oblasts of Ukraine due to exceeding the limit.

In Kharkiv and Donetsk Oblasts, damage is done to networks of regional operators.

"Ukrenergo, electricity producers and regional network operators are constantly working to restore damaged facilities hit by enemy attacks. But, despite prompt repairs, after each next Russian missile or UAV attack on the energy infrastructure, restoration becomes more and more difficult and takes more time," the report says.

Ukrenergo points out that Ukraine's energy system has so far survived 12 Russian missile and 14 UAV attacks on energy facilities.

"In addition, more than 10 GW of the main established capacities are currently inaccessible to the Ukrainian energy system and are under the control of the enemy. These are Zaporizhzhia NPP, Zaporizhzhia TPP, Luhansk TPP, Vuhlehirsk TPP, Kakhovka HPP – tge largest ones in Ukraine and Europe.

In addition, the majority of wind and solar power plants are also located in the temporarily occupied territories of the south. We should also note that in addition to the NPP, the rest of the power plants are key regulatory capacities. Exactly these power plants provide coverage of consumption in peak morning and evening hours, where currently the greatest deficit is present," the company added.
