Head of Ukrzaliznytsia resigns

Oleksandr Kamyshin, Head of Ukrzaliznytsia [Ukrainian Railways – ed.], resigns; he will be appointed as the head of the European integration office of Ukrzaliznytsia in Europe.

According to a joint decision with Vice Prime Minister Kubrakov, I will head the European integration office of Ukrzaliznytsia in Europe," Kamyshin wrote.

"I am leaving the position with a calm heart. The company works smoothly and harmoniously. An iron [strong – ed.] team remains. Therefore, I am certain that everything will continue to be fine in the company," he added.

Background: Earlier, Kamyshin said that Ukrzaliznytsia can create a freight carrier company that will work in the field of freight transportation in Europe by the end of 2023.

In August 2021, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Kamyshin as acting chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia. In March 2022, he announced that he was being appointed on a permanent basis for four years.

Before that, Kamyshin held the position of advisor to the Minister of Infrastructure, Oleksandr Kubrakov.

Prior to that, he worked at KPMG [one of the biggest accounting organisations in the world – ed.] as an auditor (2006-2008), at Tomas Fiala's Dragon Capital fund [the owner of Ukrainska Pravda] (2008-2012), and as the general director of KMZ Industries [Ukrainian grain storage and handling company – ed.]. Since July 2011 – the publisher of Latifundist Media [an agrarian media holding group – ed.].

From April 2012 to April 2019, he held the position of the investment manager of Rinat Akhmetov’s System Capital Management (SCM). At the same time, he was a member of the supervisory board of Portinvest [transport services management company – ed.]. Since January 2020 he has been the managing partner of Fortior Capital [Ukrainian-owned investment company – ed.].
