Ukraine agreed on joint construction of grain terminal in Nigeria

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the international company Lagos Free Zone (Tolaram Group) signed a Memorandum of understanding and joint participation in the grain terminal project in the port of Lekki, Nigeria.

Details: On the Ukrainian side, the memorandum was signed by First Deputy Minister Taras Vysotsky.

Quote: "The cooperation of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and the Lagos Free Zone Company will be aimed at creating the necessary infrastructure to ensure the continued continuous supply of Ukrainian agricultural products to both Nigeria and the entire African continent.

The main goal is to ensure food security in the regions that need it most," said Vysotsky.

He added that the Ukrainian agricultural sector continues to play an important role in ensuring international food security, especially given the fact of population growth around the world.

The Lekki Deep Sea Port in Nigeria is the first fully automated port in the country. This is a joint project of the governments of Nigeria and Lagos State, the owner of the Lagos free zone, Tolarams Group (Singapore) and China Harbor Engineering Company (CNEC), as explained in the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
