Details: Trudeau stressed that Canada expresses its solidarity with Ukraine and will continue to provide assistance to it, as it has done since the beginning of Russia's full-scale aggression in February 2022.

Quote: "Today, Canada announces new sanctions against four individuals and 29 entities from Russia, including in the nuclear sector."

More details: The Canadian Prime Minister added that the sanctions will remain in place until Russia withdraws its troops from all Ukrainian territory, including Crimea.

"Canada will continue to stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes," Trudeau concluded.

The Canadian government has not yet published the new sanctions, so it is not known who they apply to.

Background: In July, Canada announced sanctions against 39 Russians and 25 Russian organisations in the latest round of measures aimed at punishing Moscow for its invasion of Ukraine.

And in August, Ottawa announced sanctions against 15 Russian individuals and three legal entities for persecuting political opponents and critics of the Kremlin regime.
