It is alleged that they contributed to the supply of microelectronics to Russia, in particular the ones that Russia uses for precision guidance systems for missiles and drones launched against civilian targets in Ukraine.

Quote: "Today’s additions to the Entity List provide a clear message: if you supply the Russian defense sector with U.S.-origin technology, we will find out, and we will take action," said Matthew Axelrod, Assistant Secretary for Export Enforcement.

This is a list of legal entities, which includes companies that the United States considers a threat to national security or US foreign policy. Before sending goods to the entities on the list, suppliers must first receive licenses from the government.

On 25 September, the US Department of Commerce announced trade restrictions against 11 Chinese and 5 Russian companies, accusing some of them of supplying components for production of drones for the Russian army.

Before that, the US Department of the Treasury announced sanctions against a network of companies from Iran, China, Russia and Türkiye that facilitated the smuggling of components for the production of Iranian aircraft and drones.
