Details: Nine companies, including China's Asia Pacific Links Ltd. and Russian SMT-iLogic, allegedly participated in a scheme to supply components to the sanctioned Center for Special Technologies of the Russian Federation, drone parts for Russian military intelligence (GUR).

Asia Pacific Links Ltd. was previously featured in a journalistic investigation where its role in the supply of components for the Russian Orlan-10 drones was revealed.

Among other things, the Chinese company was one of the most important suppliers of the Russian drone production program. Along with SMT-iLogic, it was already the target of the previous round of US sanctions in May.

The US accused six more companies from China of allegedly purchasing parts for Iran's drone production programme – which are also used by Russian forces to attack Ukraine.

"We will not hesitate to take swift and meaningful action against those who continue seeking to supply and support Putin’s illegal and immoral war in Ukraine," the Commerce Department's export controls chief Alan Estevez said.

Previously: Last week, the US Department of the Treasury announced sanctions against a network of companies from Iran, China, Russia and Türkiye that facilitated the smuggling of components for the production of Iranian aircraft and drones.
