The Kyiv Zoo displayed war-surviving animals, including four servals that were brought from Kurakhove, a city in Donetsk Oblast near Marinka.

Animal rights activists evacuated the animals during Russian attacks, according to the Kyiv Zoological Park of national importance.

Servals are a predatory African mammal from the cat family.

"They were sick, exhausted and under severe stress. Our veterinarians and zoologists have taken urgent measures for their treatment and recovery," the zoo added.

After two months, Osiris and Sekhmet, the first pair of servals, started the next phase of their rehabilitation and socialisation in their own enclosure.

Zoo volunteers transferred animals to the capital's zoo

"We created an African tree with loopholes and claws, two hammocks and a cosy loft for rest, a fountain for refreshment, three types of soil, a stone rock for walking and jumping and a bunch of various toys and pillows," the Zoo reports.

In addition, three types of lighting are provided in the enclosure: sun-day, twilight-infrared and night moonlight

Earlier, we reported that the caretaker of the animals died, and 30 cats, six dogs, two chickens and a duck were rescued from a deserted island in Poltava Oblast.
