Russian forces launch 10 attacks on Avdiivka and attempt to advance on Marinka front 11 times – General Staff

Russian troops failed to improve their tactical position on the Bakhmut and Marinka fronts on day 720 of the full-scale war, while Ukrainian forces repelled 10 Russian attacks near the town of Avdiivka (Donetsk Oblast) and one attack near the settlement of Mala Tokmachka (Zaporizhzhia Oblast).

Details: Ukrainian and Russian forces clashed 52 times over the past 24 hours.

The Russians launched one missile strike, 94 airstrikes, and attacked Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas 89 times with multiple launch rocket systems.

The operational situation in Ukraine's east and south remains challenging:

There were no significant changes on the Volyn and Polissia fronts.

On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, the Russian army delivered an airstrike on the village of Kruhle (Kharkiv Oblast). Russian artillery and mortars targeted over 20 settlements, including Hremiach, Zarichchia, Korenok, and Pavlivka (Sumy Oblast); Udy, Alisivka, Kozacha Lopan, Lukiantsi, Vovchansk, and Veterynarne (Kharkiv Oblast).

On the Kupiansk front, the Russians conducted no offensive actions but delivered two airstrikes on Novoiehorivka (Luhansk Oblast). About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Dvorichna, Ivanivka, Synkivka, and Petropavlivka (Kharkiv Oblast).

On the Lyman front, Ukrainian troops repelled two Russian attacks near the settlements of Yampolivka (Donetsk Oblast) and Bilohorivka (Luhansk Oblast), where the Russian army unsuccessfully attempted to break through the Ukrainian defences. The Russians carried out 5 airstrikes near the settlements of Terniv, Rozdolivka (Donetsk Oblast) and Bilohorivka (Luhansk Oblast). Russian artillery and mortars targeted over 10 settlements, including Nevske, Serebrianka Forest (Luhansk Oblast), Spirne, Torske, Serebrianka, Rozdolivka (Donetsk Oblast).

On the Bakhmut front, Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled eight Russian attacks near the settlements of Bohdanivka, Ivanivske and Klishchiivka (Donetsk Oblast), where the Russians attempted to improve their tactical position. The Russian army also launched an airstrike on Chasiv Yar (Donetsk Oblast). About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Kurdiumivka, Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, New-York, and Chasiv Yar (Donetsk Oblast).

On the Avdiivka front, Ukrainian troops repelled 10 Russian attacks near Avdiivka and two more near Nevelske (Donetsk Oblast), where the Russians tried to break through the Ukrainian defences using air support. Russian forces also conducted 2 airstrikes near the settlement of Orlivka (Donetsk Oblast). About 20 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Berdychi, Stepove, Lastochkyne, and Avdiivka (Donetsk Oblast).

On the Marinka front, Ukrainian Defence Forces are continuing to hold back the Russians near the settlements of Heorhiivka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk Oblast), where the Russians, supported by aircraft, attempted to improve their tactical position 11 times. Russian troops also carried out airstrikes near the settlements of Kostiantynivka (Donetsk Oblast). The Russian artillery and mortar fire hit the following settlements: Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka, Paraskoviivka, and Pervomaiske (Donetsk Oblast).

On the Novopavlivka front, Russian occupying forces undertook no offensive actions. They launched an airstrike near Novodarivka (Zaporizhzhia Oblast). About 10 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire, including Vuhledar, Staromaiorske (Donetsk Oblast), Levadne and Novodarivka (Zaporizhzhia Oblast).

On the Zaporizhzhia front, units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled a Russian attack near Mala Tokmachka (Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Russian aircraft struck the following settlements: Dolynka, Zhovta Krucha, and Mala Tokmachka (Zaporizhzhia Oblast). About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Poltavka, Huliaipole, Chervone, Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, and Piatykhatky (Zaporizhzhia Oblast).

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa Operational Strategic Group of Forces on the Kherson front, the Russian army persisted in its intention to drive Ukrainian troops from their footholds on the Dnipro River's left bank. Russian forces made an unsuccessful attempt to storm the positions of Ukrainian troops there over the past 24 hours. Russian artillery targeted the settlements of Kherson, Tokarivka, and Romashkove (Kherson Oblast). Russian troops delivered airstrikes near the village of Krynky (Kherson Oblast). The Russians also targeted the settlements of Tiahynka, Ivanivka, and Krynky (Kherson Oblast) with multiple launch rocket systems.
