The National Agency for Corruption Prevention of Ukraine (NACP) has reported that it will no longer keep its register of international sponsors of the war, which caused indignation of some of Ukraine’s partners.

Details: The NACP stated that it will transfer the information from the International Sponsors of War section of the War and Sanctions portal to the Interdepartmental Work Group for the Implementation of the State Sanctions Policy.

The agency will also prepare documents that served as the basis for the information entered into the register for transfer.

In addition to this, users of the website will be redirected from the page International Sponsors of TheWar to the State Sanctions Register to receive reliable information about the official list of subjects against whom Ukraine has imposed sanctions.

The NACP informed the Ukrainian government that besides the International Sponsors of The War section, the War and Sanctions portal also contain the following sections: Components in Weapons, Tools of War, Candidates for Sanctions, War and Art, War and Sports, Foreigners in Russian Companies, as well as a lists of individuals and legal entities against whom the sanctions were imposed, mainly by partner states.

The implementation of these registers also requires standardisation and identification by the authorities responsible for their operation. Before this issue is resolved, the access to these units will be temporarily closed.

As it is known, Kyiv faced immense pressure and even blackmail from some Western partners because of the sponsors of war list, from the leadership and aid of whom Ukraine directly depends. As a result, companies from the three countries who pressured Ukraine the most were removed from the list last year.

Earlier this week it was revealed that the Ukrainian government would "hand over" the sanctions package with the NACP register to a different body. The problem of the idea is that in reality, the register will not be "handed over", but abolished.
