Leaders of Finland and Belgium confirm they will attend Ukraine's Peace Summit

Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo have confirmed their attendance at the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland in mid-June in phone calls with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Details: Following his call with Zelenskyy, the Finnish president wrote on Twitter (X) that he had discussed "the upcoming peace summit in Switzerland, which I will attend". He also said he hoped that "as many colleagues as possible will be able to join".

President Zelenskyy tweeted about his conversation with the Belgian prime minister, thanking him for "confirming his participation in the Peace Summit".

Zelenskyy also spoke with both leaders about bilateral aid in the context of Russia's full-scale war. 

The Global Peace Summit will be held on 15-16 June in the Swiss city of Bürgenstock. Switzerland has invited over 160 countries and international organisations, but not Russia.

The presidents of Poland and Latvia have already confirmed that they will be attending.
