Ukraine's air defence downs 3 Iskander missiles and 23 drones overnight

The Russian forces attacked Ukraine with ground-based missiles and attack UAVs on the night of 17-18 April. Ukraine’s air defence forces have shot down three Iskander-K cruise missiles and 23 Shahed attack UAVs.

Quote: "Early reports indicate that the Air Force air surveillance troops detected and tracked 43 enemy air attack vehicles - six missiles of various types and 37 attack UAVs (decoy drones of other types), including one Iskander-M ballistic missile (launch area: temporarily occupied Crimea), five Iskander-K cruise missiles (launch areas: temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia Oblast and Crimea), and 37 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of drones (launch areas: Russian cities of Millerovo and Kursk)."
Details: Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces were involved in repelling the attack.
As of 09:30, 26 airborne targets were confirmed to have been shot down: three Iskander-K cruise missiles and 23 Shahed attack UAVs. Ten Russian decoy drones disappeared from radar.
Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv and Kyiv oblasts came under attack.

- Earlier, it was reported that a Russian ballistic missile carrying cluster munitions had struck a high-rise building in the city of Kharkiv on the morning of 18 April, with one person reported dead and 87 injured.
- Kharkiv Oblast Prosecutor’s Office later reported that Russian forces had struck the city of Kharkiv with three Iskander high-explosive missiles. At least one missile had exploded in mid-air to cause as much damage as possible in the city.
