Details: Serhii Bondar served in the 40th Ghost of Kyiv Tactical Aviation Brigade. He was born in 1979 in Kropyvnytskyi, and lived there with his wife, son and daughter. In 2000, he graduated from the Kharkiv Institute of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He dedicated his entire life to aviation, at one point working as a lecturer at the National Aviation University.

With the onset of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, he returned to service. In the 40th Brigade he retrained to pilot L-39 and MiG-29 aircraft. It was on MiG-29 fighters that he carried out daily combat missions: destroying Russian air targets, striking Russian positions, headquarters and equipment with missiles and bombs across different sectors of the front.

In the 40th Brigade, Serhii Bondar is remembered as an experienced and composed pilot.
