Zelenskyy: Israeli Patriot system has been active in Ukraine for a month, two more units are coming

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that an Israeli Patriot air defence system has been operational in Ukraine for a month and that the country will receive two more systems this autumn.

Quote: "An Israeli system has been operating in Ukraine for a month.

We will receive two Patriot systems this autumn. I will say no more about the Patriot."

Background:

• Zelenskyy earlier said that the first two military aid packages from the US supplied under the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) will include missiles for Patriot air defence systems and HIMARS rocket launchers.
• In May 2025, The New York Times reported that an Israeli-based Patriot system would be sent to Ukraine after an upgrade. At that time, it was noted that with the Israeli system and another from either Germany or Greece, Ukraine would have a total of 10 Patriot systems.
• In June, Michael Brodsky, Israel’s ambassador to Ukraine, announced that Patriot systems that had been protecting Israel’s airspace were now deployed in Ukraine.
