Ukraine's General Staff confirms strike on Elektrodetal plant in Russia's Bryansk Oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed a missile strike on the Elektrodetal plant in Russia's Bryansk Oblast, which specialises in manufacturing various electrical connectors for military equipment.

Quote: "As part of efforts to degrade the combat capabilities of the occupying forces, on 29 September, Rocket Forces and Artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in coordination with other components of the defence forces, launched four missiles against the Karachev Elektrodetal Plant (Karachev, Bryansk Oblast, Russia). The flight distance exceeded 240 kilometres."

Details: The military said that explosions and a fire were recorded on the facility's premises as a result of the strike. "The aftermath of the strike is being confirmed," the General Staff noted.

For reference: The Karachev Elektrodetal Plant manufactures a range of electrical connectors for both military and general industrial applications, including low-frequency, high-frequency and combined connectors. Its products are used in the aerospace, electronics, instrumentation and other sectors.

These include connectors for printed circuit boards, military equipment, aircraft, antennas, base stations and other systems, as well as components for various measuring instruments.

Bryansk Oblast Governor Alexander Bogomaz did not report the strike on the plant.

According to the Russian Defence Ministry's report, most of the drones overnight were shot down over Bryansk Oblast – 24 in total. Across eight Russian regions, 84 drones were intercepted.

Background: Prior to the official confirmation, Russian Telegram channels reported that the Elektrodetal plant in Bryansk Oblast, which specialises in designing and manufacturing electronic components, including for military use, had been attacked.
