Zelenskyy: Dobropillia counteroffensive continues

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has spoken about the progress of the Dobropillia counteroffensive operation in Donetsk Oblast.

Quote: "We also spoke separately with the military about the operational situation, and the Commander-in-Chief delivered his report. The Dobropillia counteroffensive operation continues. I want to thank all our units involved for their effectiveness."

Details: Zelenskyy said Ukrainian forces had managed to liberate more than 174 sq km and over 194 sq km had been mopped up of Russian sabotage groups since the beginning of the operation.

He reported that Russian losses in this operation alone amount to nearly 3,200, most of whom were killed.

The president added that reports on the situation in Kupiansk, in the border areas of Kharkiv Oblast and in the districts at the junction of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts had also been delivered at the meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.

Quote: "The situation there is difficult, but it is important that Ukrainian warriors – our units – are doing everything necessary to defend their positions. Thank you for this."

Background: On 18 September, Zelenskyy announced that Ukrainian forces were conducting a successful counteroffensive operation on the Donetsk front.
