Ukraine has carried out a high-risk evacuation from the Gaza Strip, bringing out 57 people, including 48 Ukrainian citizens.

Quote: "On 30 September 2025, by the instruction of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a team from DIU of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have conducted a highly complex evacuation operation of our citizens from the Gaza Strip, where the security conditions have become critical.

As a result of the mission, which was carried out under heightened risk, 57 people have been rescued from Gaza, including 48 citizens of Ukraine – 16 children, 14 women and 18 men. Also evacuated from the Gaza Strip are 9 Palestinians who are family members of Ukrainian citizens."

Details: The evacuees have been flown to the Chisinau airport, from where they will travel to Ukraine by bus.

DIU has reminded Ukrainian citizens in the Gaza Strip who wish to receive state assistance to contact the Embassy of Ukraine in Israel on (+972) 54 667 67 82. A 24-hour hotline of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is also available at +38-044-238-16-57.

Background:

  • In early September 2025, the Israel Defense Forces announced that Palestinian civilians in all areas of Gaza City must evacuate immediately ahead of a major ground operation against Hamas in the area.
